Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its Redmi K80 Extreme Edition, and one of the most notable upgrades lies in its audio hardware. The upcoming flagship is said to feature dual symmetrical 1115 coaxial speakers, previously seen on the Redmi K70 RS, but now enhanced with an improved configuration and backed by a large vibration motor for a more immersive experience.

According to early reports on Weibo, the K80 Extreme Edition is equipped with a dual 1115 coaxial symmetrical speaker system, which is being touted as one of the most powerful in the industry. These speakers aim to deliver high clarity in treble and deep, rich bass by combining high and low frequencies in a single coaxial unit. The symmetrical design ensures a consistent stereo effect from both sides of the device, enhancing the user’s audio perception whether watching movies, listening to music, or gaming.

In addition, the device will support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, promising studio-grade detail and clarity. Users can expect crisp mids, defined highs, and accurate lows, making the K80 Extreme Edition a strong contender for audiophiles and content consumers.

Upgraded Haptics

The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition is also said to feature a super large X-axis linear vibration motor, which has been improved from the unit used in the K70 RS. It delivers precise, responsive tactile feedback across a variety of use cases from touch input and typing to high-intensity gaming scenarios. For example, in titles like PUBG, users will reportedly feel detailed vibrations during actions like grenade explosions, enhancing realism and in-game immersion.

Software and Music Partnerships

To further elevate the audio experience, Xiaomi has partnered with QQ Music and Dolby, bundling the device with three NFC Golden Song Packs Pop, Classic, and Pure. These include high-fidelity master tracks optimized for the K80’s speaker system, promising clear separation of vocals and instruments. Dolby Atmos support combined with QQ Music’s mastering ensures that users hear every note as intended by the artist.

Design Supports Audio Engineering

Beyond internals, the physical design of the K80 Extreme Edition supports its audio ambitions. The phone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat R-angle display, a metal middle frame, and a rounded top-left camera module. The symmetrical speaker placement and IP69 water resistance rating mean that the sound remains consistent and unaffected — even during outdoor use or light rain exposure.

The device is backed by a 7400mAh battery and 100W fast charging, allowing extended media sessions without power interruptions. Powering the experience is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chipset paired with 16GB RAM, which also ensures seamless audio processing. According to @yabhishekhd, the phone scores 3.24 million on AnTuTu, suggesting robust overall performance.

Expected Launch and Price

Redmi K80 Extreme Edition is expected to debut in late June 2025 in China. For international markets, the phone may be released under the name Xiaomi 15T Pro. It will likely be unveiled alongside the anticipated Redmi K Pad.
